Ryder was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a life-threatening condition that meant he entered the world with only half of a functioning heart and doctors initially believed he also had a fatal lung disease. Against overwhelming odds, the lung condition mysteriously disappeared, a moment we knew was nothing short of a miracle. Ryder underwent two major open-heart surgeries that saved his life. After spending 111 days in the hospital, Ryder came home and has since grown into a joyful, strong-willed little boy who continues to fight every day. This summer, Ryder faces his next major surgery—the Fontan procedure—and every purchase made helps support his journey and the search for a cure for congenital heart defects.
